COSVR549 Prepare and Erect or Conserve and Restore Earthen Structures

The UK National Occupational Standard

This training standard started out as a European project with 18 partners from 8 countries to identify and write down outcomes for training in earth building which would be recognised not just in Europe but anywhere earth building and training are taking place. The way that training is delivered, in a college or site setting does not affect the use of these outcomes which can be assessed by a skilled person however the training was delivered and in a college or site situation. Writing them with experience of professionals of many nations ensures their applicability in any situation.

This standard is about interpreting information, adopting safe, healthy and environmentally responsible work practices, selecting and using materials, components, tools and equipment and erecting and dismantling temporary support in order to prepare and erect or conserve and/or restore earthen structures.
